Migraine relief pictureStop Planning Your Life Around Headaches

Migraines and chronic headaches affect more than your head.
They change how you work, sleep, drive, travel, and spend time with family.

Many patients that we see in our office have already tried medications, injections, massage, or “basic” chiropractic care before they arrive in my office. Some improved temporarily. Many did not.

When headaches continue to return, it often means something deeper in the spine-nerve relationship hasn’t been fully evaluated.

At Chiropractic Pain & Injury Center, Dr. Tammy Atkinson provides a focused Migraine & Headache Relief Program designed to identify and address the neurologic and mechanical contributors that are commonly missed.

What Makes This Different

This is not a generic “neck adjustment” approach.

With more than 20 years in clinical practice, Dr. Atkinson has completed advanced coursework through the Carrick Institute specifically addressing migraine disorders and pain processing, along with additional training in chronic pain mechanisms.

That training changes how she evaluates a headache case.

Instead of only asking, “Where does it hurt?” we also assess:

  • How the upper cervical spine is moving

  • Whether the nervous system is under ongoing mechanical stress

  • Balance and coordination patterns

  • Eye movement control

  • Postural loading patterns

  • Residual effects of past injuries

Many persistent headaches involve more than muscle tension. They involve how the brainstem and upper cervical region are communicating. That is the level we evaluate.

Why Headaches Often Persist

In our experience with helping patient, we have noticed that recurring migraines and headaches frequently involve combinations of:

• Upper cervical joint dysfunction
• Residual whiplash or concussion patterns
• Forward head posture from years of screen use
• Autonomic stress overload
• Poor cervical stability
• Unresolved nerve irritation

If those factors are not identified, treatment remains temporary. The goal of this program is clarity — identifying what is contributing in your specific case.

Conditions Commonly Evaluated

Dr. Atkinson regularly see patients from Cary and Wake Forest with:
