Food Allergy Testing
What It Measures
Our food allergy testing uncovers foods and other substances that trigger chronic inflammation, and health conditions, such as gastrointestinal, respiratory, and joint issues as well as migraine, dermatitis, fatigue, and metabolic disorders. Over 450 substances, additives, colorings, molds, functional foods, medicinal herbs and chemical substances (such as environmental, chemical, pharmaceutical substances) can be tested.
Sensitivity vs. Allergy
A so-called "true" or "classical" food allergy reaction usually causes immediate and dramatic symptom onset. These reactions can, in extreme circumstances, even be life threatening. Usually, the respiratory system is most impacted.
Food sensitivity symptoms, on the other hand, are usually delayed and less acute. However, they can also lead to chronic inflammatory health issues, impacting almost any part of the body.
The different symptom presentation, different biological underpinnings, and overall different character of true food allergy versus food sensitivity, mean that different diagnostic approaches need to be applied. This test is efficacious for food sensitivities, but not "true" food allergies. How it Works
A small sample of your blood is sent to the laboratory overnight where it goes through a multi-step quality assurance process. This laboratory is a CLIA certified laboratory and is an FDA inspected and registered, cGMP medical device manufacturer meeting ISO EN13485 2012 standards.
Your white blood cells are tested against foods and other substances in a process using an impedance methodology based flow cytometer. This is a very accurate way to determine if your relevant immune cells react to the test substance. Your results are presented in a clear, easy-to-read, and color-coded format.
Clear Test Results
Using these test results to create an individualized nutrition plan, based on your immune system, enables you to make food choices that are better suited for your health and well-being. Additionally, many clinical symptoms associated with food and chemical sensitivities can be substantially improved or possibly prevented altogether. Your test results include the following:
- Easy to understand color-coded test report.
- Foods to avoid list.
- Comprehensive "Understanding your Results" e-booklet
- Personalized rotation plan.
- Practical shopping guide and wallet card.

What Our Patients Are Saying
Read what our patients share their experiences and find out why we are the top-rated chiropractic clinic in the Cary area.
I have been seeing Dr.Tammy regularly since 2016. I have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and require consistent care due to multiple joint subluxations which contribute to widespread chronic pain.
I look forward to my weekly appointment and feel so much better after getting fixed up (adjusted)!
All Chiropractors are not equal when considering treatment for EDS. The key is finding someone who is gentle but effective, understands the challenges of the Hypermobile body, listens, feels, and sees how the body is moving and adjusts the treatment accordingly. Dr.Tammy checks all those boxes! She is a skilled practicioner who has taken such excellent care of me I also have entrusted her with my daughter's care as well. We both see her regularly and feel she is a vital part of our care team. EDS has no cure and managing symptoms becomes the treatment plan. For us, Chiropractic care and Physical Therapy are the bread and butter to managing our subluxations, reducing pain, and improving daily functionality. We are so fortunate to have found Dr.Tammy Atkinson at the Chiropractic Wellness Center in Cary!!
Dr. Tammy's refined and careful touch has helped me tremendously with my neck and upper back issues. She's been over on Kildaire Farm Rd. for over 10 years. I've appreciated the various therapies she offers in addition to the standard adjustments.
Dr. Tammy is the best. Very easy to schedule appointments and although 1 session does not immediately fix your issue - I always feel 150% better after the first appointment than before I walked in. She is kind, gentle and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Chiropractic Pain & Injury Center to anyone looking for the best Chiropractor!
